Jen Detlefsen is a California-born, Virginia-based glass artist, mother, veteran and maker. Her artwork explores themes of masculine/feminine dichotomy, double standards, motherhood, and literature’s impact on gender roles. Living and traveling abroad have deeply influenced her work and outlook on life. Jen is a graduate of Chrysler Museum Glass Studio Assistantship Residency and is finishing her BFA in glass at VCUArts. When she’s not in the hot shop, she stays busy raising the next generation of kick-ass women and sampling the finest cocktails the 757 has to offer.
